Rachel Larabie has pursued a career in information technology (IT) for more than 25 years. She has considerable and varied experience in consulting and in operations in small, medium and large private and public organizations in several industries. Rachel also teached in IT at a university.
Rachel Larabie holds a Master’s degree in management science, M. Sc. (Information Technology) and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, B.A.A. (Information Technology) at HEC Montréal. She is a member of several associations such as Quebec Association of IT Freelancers (AQIII), International Coach Federation (ICF) and Réseau HEC Montréal.
Starting in 1997 and until 2002, Rachel evolved as a consultant and manager primarily in the integration and development of web applications which led her to work for one of the largest providers of professional services worldwide. She was involved in several major strategic and technological projects for large organizations operating in Canada and the United States. Rachel also contributed as a Director to the growth of two IT consulting firms in Quebec, one acquired by Cossette and the other acquired by Telus.
Subsequently, Rachel gained knowledge and experience in the implementation of SAP solutions within a major manufacturer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America. She took part in five major deployments occupying several management functions between 2002 to 2006, related to investments of several millions of dollars.
Her career then took a turn and she started RLC Inc. in 2006. Among others, she completed mandates for a worldwide manufacturer of trains. In 2008, Rachel adventured to Algeria as part of the large construction project of building the East-West highway. She assisted Dessau in managing and controlling the project realized by two Asian consortiums. Upon her return to Quebec, she managed the project of selecting a world class ERP software. She later became Director of Management Information Systems within an organization of the Québec blood supply system until 2012.
Rachel has actively been involved for several years in the Relay For Life fundraising event of the Canadian Cancer Society. She supports several organizations working on causes linked to health, education and humanitarian help.
Rachel is passionate about the challenges and projects she engages in, displaying determination and flexibility. Her numerous travels to South America, Europe, North America and North Africa enabled her to develop open-mindedness and adaptability well-suited to work easily with people.
